Project Accountant

Location: St. George, South Carolina

Join our dynamic BID Group Finance team! Working under the supervision of the Senior Vice-President of Business Resources, the Project Accountant is a highly motivated, responsive, and resourceful professional who will work with external and internal customers to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of all accounting tasks for BID Group Construction US, Inc projects. This position fosters collaboration with other finance, corporate and construction team personnel to achieve department and company-wide goals.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compile and analyze financial information for construction projects into various financial statements, job costing reports, and accounting reports using CRM software.
  • Ensure application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and produce error-free accounting reports for construction projects and present results.
  • Maintain and post intercompany transactions and resulting job costing, and project accounts payable and receivable.
  • Maintain construction budgets and budget changes over construction project life cycle.
  • Complete forecasting and analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of job cost reports.
  • Understand certain aspects of construction contracts to build out and maintain payment planning schedules and other project specific requirements.
  • Respond to requests from US and Canadian counterparts relating to job codes and project budgets.
  • Post and maintain documentation for journal entries and cash account transactions for all assigned cash accounts.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process and deadlines.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and explanation for journal entries and financial transactions.
  • Provide research data and information as requested in a timely manner.
  • Maintain professional communication and working relationships in collaboration with Finance Department, Accounting Managers, internal and external stakeholders, Accounts Payable, Payroll and field personnel.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of experience general accounting is required to apply for this position.
  • Possess strong deductive reasoning and the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Be honest, autonomous, and methodical, have superior attention to detail, and maintain professional communications with clients, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Computer skills needed (Excel and other specialized accounting and ERP software)
  • Be able to function under pressure, enjoy customer contact and enjoy teamwork.
  • Analytical mind, attention to details, rigorous, methodical, self-motivated, and driven.
